Sketchup model

Here it is so far! The top word was "crouch" and the bottom word was "reach". Things have changed quite a bit from my original sketch as you can see. The model isn't exactly how I want it (yet)... I'm struggling to find a way to add outstretched hands to the ends of the tubes pointing upwards. The above ground structure is made of corrugated glass and steel, while the underground structure is constructed of the same, with a steel frame and glass skylights above ground.

Sections!

The two artists that I chose to use were Richard Goodwin and Patricia Piccinini.

Something beautiful

Being a keen snowboarder, to me there is nothing more beautiful than fresh, untracked powder snow. It's something you don't get to see much in the southern hemisphere due to pitiful snowfalls, but when you do, you can really appreciate it's beauty. Not only is it beautiful because of what it means for me as a snowboarder (tonnes of fun), but it is just one of nature's picturesque wonders that you often really have to seek out to experience. Looking out over a field of perfectly smooth, unmarked white on a still, clear day, with no trace of human intervention, is really quite breathtaking.

A great piece of architecture

This isn't probably particularly original, but the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the world's tallest building, is in my opinion an amazing feat of architecture. Not only is it the tallest building in the world by some 200 metres, but it smashes numerous other construction records including the building with the most floors and the world's highest elevator installation. I have always been fascinated by skyscrapers, and the ingenuity behind the design and creation of a building such as this is mind-boggling! Couple this with it's elegant form and you have a truly awe-inspiring structure.

My best piece of creative work: "Apocalypse"

This was an image manipulation I did a few months ago while playing around with the program GIMP, a program very similar to Photoshop. I started with an initial image of a desert, then added the explosions/fireballs, the woman in the foreground, and changed the lighting and colours. It's pretty amateur I know but hey, I'm not that good! I don't really know what I was trying to convey through creating an image of a nuclear-type apocalypse, I just thought it looked cool...
